Clone zpool to smaller drives

I have 2x1tb drives in a mirror that only uses 200gb, i want to move this to a 2x320g mirror, but keep the same volume name.

I know i would take a snapshot and run replication to get it across.

Is there any way to do it without using a temp volume name, and then renaming that zpool after detaching the existing pool.

Hope that makes some sense.

Cool, i was thinking along the same lines. Lucky its easy run up.

This worked perfectly, I just moved the .system over to the other pool when I changed the physical disks and then switched it back once I booted again.

Going to use the same method to go from z1 to z2 on the weekend. 4TB over GbE isn't going to be fun though :(
