Changing from mirror usb drives to single satadom question

I’m tired of having issues with usb flash drive so I bought a super micro satadom.
My question is, is there going to be an issue changing from a mirrored boot device to a single boot device?
I plan on removing the two usb devices and then doing a clean installation of freenas. Then re-installing the previous configuration file from back up.
Would this be the best way to do this? And will the config file have information telling the system that the boot device is supposed to be mirrored? Which would cause issues.
