I've written to a CF card with no problems before when I used to use PF Sense. I've done this countless times without any problems using physdiskwrite. I have a 2gb CF card by the way; is this a problem?

I install my cf card like in any other system I've put together in my CF to IDE adapter boot up & I run into what looks like the freeBSD boot screen that looks even more basic than GRUB.

F1 BSD
F2 BSD

F5 DRIVE 1
F6 PXE
BOOT: F1
Read error
_ (Blinking Cursor)

Looks like a script automatically picks option 1 which is BSD then I see a blinking cursor with no activity. Do I have to perform a low level format or at least something other than a usual format or is my CF card to small? I never got any good at diagnosing these types of problems. I really don't want to use a hard drive as a primary drive for FreeNAS. Please help!

Some 2GB sticks/cards may be to small to run FreeNAS. It's recommended to use a 4GB medium.

Btw, did you really need that poll?
