Hi everyone;

I am building a server that would run FreeNAS and I'm not exactly sure if FreeNAS would support the following hardwares. From what I can gather, FreeNAS should work fine with these hardwares but I could not confirm for the motherboard. It would be truly great if someone could confirm if would be any issue with these hardwares.

Case: Norco RPC-4224
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V
CPU: Intel Core i5-3470S
SAS Adapter: LSI SAS 9211-8i
SAS Expander: Intel RAID Expander Card RES2SV240
RAM: Kingston ValueRAM 4x8GB 1333MHz DDR3 non ECC
PSU: Antex 650W EA-650
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Green WD20EARX
Boot Drive: SanDisk Cruzer Fit 4GB

I would also welcome any criticism of the hardware choices. The aim is to build a relatively cheap & low power server to be used as a NAS in a home environment.

I understand that some might feel strongly about the choices being made such as a non ECC RAM or using WD20EARX for data, if there is a significant advantage of using other hardware please let me know.
