I am fairly new to FreeNas and want to learn more, what can I do/read to become more skilled?
I originally installed 9.3 without any problems and have now migrated to 9.10
While this was without issues I really want to get my teeth into this product as in my mind it is a winner.
Last point, I am a home user however am interested in server based solutions.
Thoughts please!

Switch to 9.10 and read the freenas docs. Then try to setup and use the things you find interesting. Example: cifs, NFS, snapshots, jails, plugins, smart tests, scrubs, users/permissions.

Why did you migrate to 10.0? That's alpha software, undocumented and unsupported.

I do apologize, I was incorrect when I typed that I switched to 10.0, what I should have written was that I upgraded t0 9.10
I am sorry for the mind lapse!

I have now adjusted the Title and body to reflect this error!

SweetandLow has given the best advice for you.
Learn the FreeNAS manual and read this forum.

What has suddenly happened that people apparently have no idea which version they're running? I kind of get the confusion between 9.1/9.10, since they're numerically identical (even though there's a long history of odd version numbers in software), but I really don't get the confusion between 9.10 and 10.something. I'm not really trying to pile on Al; he's just the latest example. Any ideas?

I can envision the confusion, since 9.10 is running on FreeBSD 10.3.

Al, if it's easier to study a PDF or ePUB version of the docs, you can download it via a link in my signature. I refresh them on a regular basis.

I want to thank every one for there input especially gpsguy.
Now being just about 70 years old my mind does not work as well as it did 50 years ago, however
my interest in learning has not waned.
