All ssd FreeNAS setup

Hi,

I am building a new NAS right now. It will be based on an asrock z690m-itx/ax mainboard with an i5 12400F. It will have an Intel 10 Gbit network card (X540-T2). It will use an Samsung 990 nvme as boot drive (and I hope as cache) plus the samsung qvo with 8 TB, four times. It will be equipped with 32 GB of DDR4. Is there something to keep my eyes open for? I think I would opt for an raidz1. Any recommendations / suggestions?

What are your goals? I would at least double that amount of RAM, especially if you want to try saturating that 10Gbps connection.
You don't want to use the boot drive as anything else than the boot drive; besides, you don't need L2ARC.

I have to waste an entire drive just for booting?
