Everything is much better since i've wrote here the last time... I have my main freenas running, and have a backup one rsync'ed... feels better this way ;) The last time i've upgraded from 8.0.3 to 8.3.0 and had quite a lot of small problems such as disconnection when connecting with afp, slow transfer when connecting with cifs, and most of all a global unstability (the nas was to be reboot'ed every week or so). We've upgraded to 8.3.1 (beta3) and so far things are going much better... We don't have to reboot the nas every now and then, the CIFS seems to get much better, even if it's not perfect (but on the other hand, or network may not be perfect either... so i won't blame freenas for this ;) )
The problem of AFp is that we have people that works with macs, and these people are connected with afp shares. These shares go down in flames quite often (or at least too often in the users eyes ;) )... So i'd like to know if some of you ever had this kind of problem and if you did solve it ?

What confuses me is that sometimes it works, and sometimes not... the config does not change, and i can't see why the context is changing enough so the share fails...

What confuses me is that sometimes it works, and sometimes not... the config does not change, and i can't see why the context is changing enough so the share fails...
