Hi,

I'm using a Supermicro X10SDV motherboard with a Xeon-D 1521. FreeNAS is at 9.10.1-U2. The ACPI shutdown mode is set to the default S5 state. Whenever I press the power button (soft off), FreeNAS starts dumping many kernel panics and eventually reboots.

What can I do to find out the root cause?

Thanks!

Please post the entire hardware configuration of your system, include if this was working prior to upgrade to U2 and as much detail as you can provide.

While it sounds like a FreeNAS software issue, when was the last time you ran MemTest86?

Here is what I'd do first, not knowing anything else about your situation...

1) Backup the FreeNAS configuration file.
2) If you are using a USB Flash drive for the boot device (sounds like it could be), replace it with another one and reinstall FreeNAS and test if that fixed it, then restore the config file.
3) Run MemTest86, ensure you are stable.
4) Upgrade to FreeNAS 9.10.1-U4 (current version) and see if that fixes it.

Good to hear. I know U3 had a lot of fixes and U4 had a few.
