My FreeNAS install has been running on an HP miniserver for a "VERY" long time.
When I went to check on updates this year, I now cant even see menus in the web interface. I am able to login, but there is just no menu's showing. Not even the logout button.

Tried to do the upgrade with media:
1) Booted to USB with 9.3 to no luck seeing the installed version (wants to fresh install).
2) Booted to USB with 11.2 and had the same result.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

So installing in another device (like a usb stick), would later scan my three disks and discover the files?
Or is it more of a fresh install? This I would like to avoid.

Thanks for the reply!

Your storage disks are separate from the OS. Reinstalling the same version to a different stick and restoring your config confirms whether or not the original OS/boot device died (which is the most likely scenario for the issue you are experiencing).

Very strange, because the system boots and FreeNAS loads. It is accessible without any issues from Windows and MAC.

Just no menus when I login to the webgui.

Tried the manual command or script in the OS and the script is not there!
Installed another box to see if I could find the CLI script and was not able to find these files.
Maybe deprecated at some point?

Best regards!
