Hey folks
I'm still looking at some options for my nas. I've had a quick look through the forums and not been able to find a clear answer to the following:
Are there any benefits in getting a reasonable priced motherboard and add a SATA extender card with a number of ports, or should I go for a MB with say 6 SATA ports included.
With the last option, does it matter that usually the ports aren't of the same speed (some Asus boards have 2 SATA ports at 6Gb/s and 4 at 3Gb/s. And with the former option, would that use more power?
What are your thoughts and experiences?
Thank you,
Dirk
