BUILD 12-bay Options

Hi everyone,

I currently run an Antec 300 with a SuperMicro A1SAM-2550F (just replaced), 16GB DDR3 ECC RAM, and 6 x 8TB WD REDs.

I have 6 older 3TB drives and want to add another pool to my system, but it is out of space.

What is the best way to get 12 drives in this system? New chassis that can fit 12? External SAS enclosure? Other?

That's easiest.

External SAS enclosure?

That will require an HBA with external ports and expensive cables... may be problematic with Fan speeds.

That will certainly hold 12 drives.

That chassis has no backplane, so yes, breakout cables are essential.
