Background: New to FreeNAS, goal is to serve Plex transcoding (1080p) TV and Movies for 1-4 users with a "future proof" server. I've loosely based this build from John Ramsden's Build. I'll likely also use this as a backup location for a few laptops.
Proposed hardware: (mix of Amazon and Newegg links as I found best price between)
On a side note, I noticed the https://smile.amazon.com links did not get the affiliate code added, so switched them to www.
Thanks, in advance, for your time and feedback.

- Case - LIAN LI PC-A75
- Backplane (3) - Lian Li BP3SATA
- Case Fan (1 rear) - Noctua NF-S12A PWM
- Case Fan (3 front) - Noctua NF-A15 PWM
- PSU - Seasonic SS-660XP2 Calculator thinks I'll be around 280w, so this might be overkill.
- Motherboard - Supermicro X10SL7-F-O I know it's an older gen, but the desired drive count means I would need a X11SSL-CF or X11SSH-CTF to get into LGA 1151
- CPU - Xeon E3-1231 v3 PassMark 9,636
- CPU Fan - Noctua NH-U12S probably overkill, but I prefer not to roast the CPU during multiple transcodes
- RAM (2 kits) - Crucial CT2KIT102472BD160B 16GB (2 x 8GB) ECC Unbuffered DDR3L 1600
- Boot - Supermicro SSD-DM064-SMCMVN1 64GB SATADOM
- Boot Cable - B005E2XRYK SATA extender for SATADOM - not sure if I will need, but it looks like the SATADOM could block ports
- Data (10 in RAIDZ2) - WD40EFRX WD Red 4TB 5400 RPM - since Newegg has a limit 5, I'll source the other half from Amazon.
