Hi,
I'm having a problem with my CPU cooler.
At first i thought that my CPU fan was just nice en quiet, but after i while i found out that no matter how hard i use my system, the CPU fan is just always stuck @1000RPM.
The cpu temp runs up to 74 degree C (~165 F) after some heavy stress testing (after about half an hour) and the CPU fan just stays idle....
When my system is idle, the temperature just floats somewhere around the 26 degree C (78 F)
However,
When i boot up my system, the CPU fan makes more noise for the time it runs through it BIOS, after that it idles @1000RPM and it just stays there.
When i log into IPMI i can change the fan mode of my system to 4 different modes (standard, full speed, optimal, heavyIO mode) the CPU fan does respond to this input, but the problem is
that these are fixed speeds and i want it (offcourse) to be temperature regulated.
(it is currently set to the optimal fan mode with a speed of 1000RPM).
This is my hardware:
Intel XEON 1240v5 CPU
Stock intel CPU cooler
Supermicro X11SSL-cf Motherboard
I have the CPU fan connected to the FANA header, just as the manual says.
Also i cant find anything in the bios related to fan speeds. But maybe i am looking over it.
I hope someone here has some suggestions.
Thanks in advance!
