after a power outage I cant import an raidz1 consisting of 5x4TB
all disks are physically OK.
I tried
import -f rpool
import -fF rpool
and finally
import -fFX rpool

now he is working for 3 days.
iostat tells me that he is reading 20mb/s and writing 800kb/s
does he have to read through the whole 20TB or just the allocated 5TB ?
is it normal that this command takes days or even weeks to finish ?

See that message in my sig about RAIDZ1 being dead. Right now, you are looking like you might be a statistic for that signature entry.

It has to read through all 5TB of data. And your chances of the pool mounting are.... shall we say... widely varied and random.

Good luck!

PS: If you have backups, now is a good time to look for them.

Thanks for the info.
If it really just has to read through the allocated data then it should be finished by tomorrow.
I will give you an update on what was the outcome. Can you elaborate on why raidz1 is dead ?
Too little redundancy ? or something wrong with the raidz1 code ..

The first time I looked I didnt get that this was a link.
Quite an interesting article.
Our new setup consist of 2TB x 8 x raidz2 and a new 2200 VA USV ..
the old 1100 VA usv failed us during the power outage while we were migrating from the old machine to the new one.
