Tested with a LUN/VMFS with only one running VM:
Configured VMware Snapshots
Starting a manual "Create Snapshot" sometimes doesn't show the checkbox "VMWare Sync", clicking immediatly again shows the checkbox.
Triggerd from FreeNAS, frequently at vcenter: "An error occurred while quiescing the virtual machine. See the virtual machine's event log for details. An error occurred while taking a snapshot: Failed to quiesce the virtual machine. An error occurred while saving the snapshot: Failed to quiesce the virtual machine."
Also snapshots frequently are not removed after successfull creation.
Starting from "Periodic Snapshot Tasks" same behaviour.
