Most everything went well but I have two problems.

1. Sonar is functioning, but the service will not autostart after boot. Jail shell iissuing a "service sonarr start" works fine. Autostart in jail properties is set, Can't find an answer.

2. I've upgraded all jails and the apps in them however bringing in a backup to the jail from the previous jail results in sonarr being a blank canvas meaning the previous config and database are not being used in Sonarr. I've spent many hours making sure the config files were in the right place as the directory stricture has changed

I've looked at the current appdata path and that is where the config and nzbdrone.db is located. Sonar just doesn't see it. Iknow this is more a Sonarr question and I have made inquiries there to but there is a vastly greater pool of minds here that have gone through this upgrade.
Thanks

1. auto start of sonarr is done in the /etc/rc.conf file in the jail. It has nothing to do with the freenas gui that box is to auto start the jail not the services.
2. I have no clue, I always just start over with sonarr when i have to rebuild it.

You would think so on number 1. My rc,conf
#>
hostname="sonarr"
cron_flags="$cron_flags -J 15"

# Disable Sendmail by default
sendmail_enable="NO"
sendmail_submit_enable="NO"
sendmail_outbound_enable="NO"
sendmail_msp_queue_enable="NO"

# Run secure syslog
syslogd_flags="-c -ss"

# Enable IPv6
ipv6_activate_all_interfaces="YES"

sonarr_enable="YES"
#<

Thanks for clarifying the autostart option in the gui.

so if you restart the sonarr jail in the gui you are saying that the sonarr services does not come up?

That is correct.

After starting Sonarr jail you cant get to the web gui. service sonarr status shows sonarr is not running. Service sonarr start works fine.

I've spent most of my weekend reading and cannot find a clue

Thanks for helping out sweetnlow

Your other jails work correctly? What's the output of uname -K and uname -U inside the jail

I have no clue what the problem is, check the messages log file for why it's not starting or the sonar log, maybe it's starting but dying.

Thanks, I figured a trace of startup activity was going to have to happen. Could I trouble you to advise as to which files to examine? There are quite a few :eek:
Thanks, I'm going to bed.

Those 2 log files are from 20min apart. You should also be looking at the messages file in the jail. Not the one for freenas. I also don't know what you mean by cleared out the log, but whatever you did don't do that, you can't clear a log file.

It took 20 minutes to clear the log and restart the jail so fresh data (and abbreviated) would be there. Sonarr log was cleared from within sonarr. I'll stay away from clearing freenas logs if it is an issue,

I'll search for the messages file in the jail. Thanks for the help.

Message file in the jail says little more than the network going down than up
