After upgrading my TrueNAS 12 to the latest build (202003180424) today, I ran into the SAME problem on 2 boxes.

Even a fresh install of TrueNAS 12 does not work anymore! I formatted the installation USB-drives (I use them in a mirror configuration), but that didn't solve my installation problem.

Do you have a small SSD that you can use in place of the USB drive and try that out? (I picked up a couple of Kingston 120GB SSDs for US$20 or so each). USB boot devices appear to be, err..., discouraged.

This is an issue with today’s build. Should be fixed in the next one. You can also use the debug kernel to get around it, if you have something you want to test right naow, not tomorrow.

The boot menu changed a bit. Choosing “active” cycles through your environments, there’s no list any more.

Nightlies truly are an adventure :).
