I've been running FreeNAS since 2015 i think it was still FreeNAS 9 at the time

over the years i have upgraded.

Im currently running Freenas 11.2-U5 on a Supermicro board (A1SRi-2758F-O) with 4 intel 1Gb nics. I created a LAG with these 4 interfaces.

I recently setup a 10Gb switch and I'd like to utilize 10Gb over 4Gb

Im curious if anyone can direct me to a preferred 10G PCIe based RJ-45 NIC. also im not very fluent with the freebsd operating system so installing drivers for me doesn't appear as simple as it does with a double click installer for windows.

any help or guidance would be very much appreciated.

i saw that but it deals with 10G SFP cards and ports. I'm looking for an RJ-45 based 10G nic. I appreciate your response though

I'm on SFP+, but got a switch with 2x10Gb RJ-45 ports to be tested some day.

Perhaps the folks here would be interested in know what is your switch make/model to better assist? I'm not sure if there are manufacture locks out there for it, as we've seem on the SFP+ side.

Mlovelace, i installed this card today and have it link aggregated for 20GB throughput. install was simple and re configuring my Freenas box was easy via the IPMI port. thanks again for your recommendation
