After upgrading my TrueNAS 12 to the latest build (202003180424) today, I ran into the SAME problem on 2 boxes.
The boxes were running perfectly on TrueNAS MASTER build 202003170424.

Even a fresh install of TrueNAS 12 does not work anymore! I formatted the installation USB-drives (I use them in a mirror configuration), but that didn't solve my installation problem. The only build that will install succesfully is 202003170424. I hope that I can restore the backup from a newer version to this older build...

On booting the upgraded TrueNAS:

Thanks! We are aware of the issue. A fixed build has been started.
Upgraded systems can be booted by choosing the debug kernel or a previous boot environment from the boot loader menu in the meantime.

This issue only affected a single build 202003180424, it was fixed the same day in build 202003181257.
