Hello, I set up FreeNAS 11-U4 and everything works great except I can't seem to change the system timezone. It shows the correct time, but the System Time shows PST on the System Information tab. However, everywhere else it appears to be correctly set to EST:
  • System - General Timezone is set to America/Detroit
  • In the shell as root, running date returns the correct time, with EST
  • In the shell as a user I created (sshuser), running date returns EST as well
I wouldn't care, but sure enough my alert emails are coming through 3 hours late (based on the PST timezone), so I'd like to change that if possible. What am I missing?

This bug was fixed after 11.0-U4: https://redmine.ixsystems.com/issues/26270

In short, cron must be restarted after a time zone change, or it is still running on the old time. A restart will do that, or service cron restart from the shell.

I found that bug earlier when I was searching around, but after restarting cron the System Time still shows PST for me.
So I scheduled a cron job and it ran when I was expecting it to, so all is good. Thanks!
