good day

I have installed CentOs 7 in a VM on my freenas, but after I get the prompt that the installation has been successful and I should reboot, I get start and it will not boot into the OS, I have also tried to boot from file but the file manager cannot seem to find my installation. I thought i could manually navigate to grub but no luck.

Which kernel version? 4.15 and higher will be supported in 11.2-BETA1, due out in a few weeks.

Boot Maschine manual from file in efi menu,
then copy another efi-file to BOOTX64.EFI

cp /boot/efi/EFI/centos/shimx64-centos.efi /boot/efi/EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI

if you are using a LGA 771/775 while the cpu's do support virtualization they don't have VT-X EDP, the EDP part came later and unfortunately bhyve that freenas uses needs this. The older freenas used virtualbox wich would work fine.
