Transmission - where are the other settings?

Ok, I'm sure this will sound pretty dumb to a lot of you, but here's the thing.

A long while ago (10 years?) I used Transmission for Mac OS and Windows, and it had some great settings like:
Automatically download this type of file to this folder
Keep incomplete files in this folder
Move .torrent files to this folder upon finishing

and so on.

Am I doing something wrong, or those features are only present in the Windows/Mac versions?

all settings are available in a file at
/usr/local/etc/transmission/home/settings.json

Note with transmission some of the settings need to be set in the rc.conf done. The default argue to start the service use a config file which uses rc.conf

I haven't really looked into it too much, but I think the new web GUI might be enough.

If you notice thing don't change after you set them this is probably why. Also the transmission service has to be stopped to make changes to the config file.

Indeed the settings didn't get saved. Bummer.
I'll check the rc.conf then.

Ok, nothing I try changes the download dir. It always goes back to default.
Tried to stop the service within the jail's console before editing, but as soon as I start the service, it replaces the download folder with the default path.

The temporary download folder seems to have worked, though.
I passed a dataset folder to the jail through /mnt.
Path would be /mnt/Torrents.

What am I doing wrong?

The downloads directory setting goes in /etc/rc.conf and is called transmission_download_dir="your path"
