I finished building my new FreeNAS and now I want to transfer all of my data from my Netgear ReadyNAS. How can I do this without having to use my desktop?

It seems ridiculous to have to use my desktop as the middle man when I have to NAS's on my LAN that have there own OS, services, and NICs. Both NAS's support FTP, is there a way on the FreeNAS to connect to my ReadyNAS to pull that data?

Yes, ftp from the CLI.

Good to hear.

What basic commands would I need, or do you have a link to where I can find out?

thanks for the search, and the first link pretty much has it all. But can anyone make it easier for me and provide me quick instructions or an example of what i can do? I basically would like to copy an entire directory from my old nas to my freenas. I have already turned on the FTP services on both NASs.
