In Thunar (installed as part of XFCE) under TOS-19.08, when I go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced and click on "Configure the management of removable drives and media" so I can automount my digital camera and USB keys, I get the following error:
Code:
Failed to display the volume management settings.
Failed to execute child process "thunar-volman" (No such file or directory).

Maybe relatedly, my hotplug devices fail to appear in Thunar when I plug them in.

This looks like some part of Thunar is missing. Is that deliberate? And if it is, what's the solution? I'm not sure (not having tried it) sysutils/volman will work with XFCE and Thunar, and it looks like it went mostly unmaintained after the initial release in 2011, so I'm somewhat reluctant to try it.

ETA 2019-08-25: I found https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=7283 but I'm not sure that restriction is still applicable now that FreeBSD has devel/libgudev and devel/libudev-devd. Any clue welcome.

ETA 2019-08-26: I filed https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=240110.

according to freshports.org, these are the only thunar related apps/programs, and Trident has them available

thunar Xfce file manager
thunar-archive-plugin Archive plugin for the Thunar File Manager
thunar-media-tags-plugin Media tags plugin
thunar-vcs-plugin Version Control System plugin for Thunar
thunar-vfs The virtual filesystem for Thunar
