Well, I didn't follow the directions, I thought.. how hard can it be?
So here's what I did. We had a disk with bad sectors being remapped. I went to the server, unplugged the disk, and connected teh new one. When I came back to the console I realized nothing had happened on the server.
I went to Disks and did a Detach of the bad disk. This disk went away from the console. The new disk would not show up, so I figured my hardware doesn't have hot swappable SATA. I rebooted, and the new disk was there. Clicked Replace.
Now I'm stuck... The GUI shows everything as it should be. Only the new disk is present, in a good state, no problems at all.
When I go to the CLI though, I get this:
# zpool status
pool: Data
state: DEGRADED
scrub: resilver completed after 0h0m with 0 errors on Mon Dec 10 17:25:22 2012

Nothing has changed here for over 24 hours now. I just need to remove the OFFLINE disk as it's no longer in the system. It's early enough on that I could delete the pool and start again, but I'd still rather not.
Thanks!
Mark
