Streaming Video very slow using SMB

Hi, my video streaming from a share in Freenas is very slow and freezing. Any idea?

Give us more, mon amis! Hardware? Type of NIC? Type of switch and cabling? Any input/output errors on ports on the path? Half duplex or duplex mismatch anywhere?

What kind of share? SMB? AFP? NFS? iSCSI?

Speed of transfer when you just copy some data around on FreeNAS itself, from command line?
Speed of transfer when you copy data over the network?

My money's on network trouble and, who knows. We have nothing to go on.
