All,
So I upgraded three servers from 11.1 to 11.3_U1 by DVD iso image. Upgrade seemingly went fine except I had to re-establish an ip address for the GUI. After the upgrade I noticed that now sshd will not start on any of the three machines. Not sure why. Any help or troubleshooting suggestions appreciated. I've not changed any configuration since the upgrade from 11.1 to 11.3U1.
Also, I'm not sure how FreeNAS is supposed to configure and store FreeBSD's SSH settings so that the GUI properly functions, but maybe that might be an issue. Over the years we've hardened to servers with internal private certificates and reduced ciphers. Ive tried:
1. Starting using the FreeNAS gui says that it failed to start.
2. running /etc/rc.d/sshd start generates the error message in /var/log/messages as follows:
3. tail /var/log/messages says "warning failed precmd routine for openssh"
Any recommend troubleshooting steps?
