I have ssh running on FreeNAS-8.0.1-RC2-amd64 (7813)

I can't yet find a pattern to it but occasionally it will take several minutes (2 or more) for ssh to connect. I get the username and password prompt right away as normal but after that it will sometimes just hang and only bring me to the prompt after a few min or sometimes just timeout.

I've tried restarting the service and even the physical server, but it does not appear to have changed anything.

am trying to run a script for a plugin for Opsview (Nagios) that will ssh into the freenas system run a ps -A and use that to tell if the iSCSI and/or CIFS processes are running.

But this issue with ssh is preventing that.

Anyone had a similar problem or have any suggestions?

I suppose you could try running 'top' on the console while trying to connect and see what's taking place. Something about this seems familiar, but it's been awhile.

fix your nameserver , it's the ip to name ( i.e. PTR records ) that is missing or wrong
