SSH Public Key not saving

I am not able to save an SSH public key in a user account. This issue have been ongoing for numerous 11.2 releases

Currently running FreeNAS-11.2-U4.1.

I can paste in a public key to the SSH Public Key field and save the account but when I go back in the key it not there and I cannot SSH to the FREENAS server.

**edit** if I disable password login I can then save an SSH key but then it removes the allow sudo option. I need this user to be allowed to sudo but do not want to enabel password login (SSH keys only)

Running into this (again?) after an upgrade to 12 U8. ssh key is saved and i can login for a day with that user. The next day it's missing again and getting alarms about a failed password.
I tried pretty much everything, disable password, remove spaces from the key, nothing helps. Was this bug ever fixed ?
