I have 6x8TB shucked WD white drives that are about 1 year old.

One of my drives has "Read Recovery Attempts" count that keeps growing about 20-25k a month. Currently it is at 296,436

Been watching the drive expecting it to have issues, but so far seems to be doing okay.

Googling around no one really talks about this error. Any info? Is this error count a concern long term?

You do not provide any actual data. Please provide the entire output of smartctl -a /dev/your_drive if you are actually looing for some help. This will provide us the needed data. Also, provide the version of TrueNAS you are running.

Been 3 yrs since my original post, but here is the current smartctl output
LOL, I didn't even notice that. I need to open my eyes.

Your hard drive performance is fantastic. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Not a single actual error. And no Helium leak!

The values to look at to denote a pending drive failure is as follows for this drive:
SMART Attributes: 1, 5, 7, 22, 196, 197, 198, and 199 (199 is likely a data cable caused issue).
Normally I would not list ID 1 but your drive indicates the actual raw data to see, Seagate drives eh, don't in most cases.
