Seemlingly High RAM usage

Hi Folks - I'm not sure if this is hardware, sharing, networking or storage... :)

I have 32 GB of RAM (full specs at end of this post) and I'm using my FreeNAS for 1. NFS shares for my ESXi hosts, 2. CIFS shares for Windows clients and 3. a few jails (2 for Emby plugins and a full jail for my UniFi controller). I notice over time that the amount of RAM steadily decreases and swap starts being used. After a restart a few hours ago TrueCommand is listing:
  • FreeNAS zero percent - 88.8%
  • FreeNAS page percent - 8.3%
  • FreeNAS wired percent - 1.9%
  • FreeNAS free percent - 0.7%
  • FreeNAS active percent - 0.1%
  • FreeNAS vnode percent - 0.0%
  • FreeNAS swap percent - 0%
  • FreeNAS laundry percent - 0%
The top of TrueCommand is providing: Memory - 1.3% / 31.1GB

Here are the specs for mobile views:
  • Operating System: FreeNAS-11.2-U6
  • Chassis: Supermicro SuperChassis 825TQ-R740LPB 2U 8 x 3.5" Drive Bays
  • Power Supply: 2 x 740 Watt PWS-741P-1R Power Supply Platinum
  • Backplane: Supermicro BPN-SAS-825TQ 8-port 2U TQ (W/ AMI 9072)
  • Motherboard: Supermicro X9DR3-LN4F+
  • CPU: 2 x Intel Xeon E5-2630 V1 Hex (6) Core 2.3GHz
  • RAM: 32GB DDR3 ECC (8 x 4GB - DDR3 - REG)
  • Storage Controller: LSI 9210-8i 6 GB/S
  • Boot Pool: 2 x Kingston AS400 120 GB SSD Mirrored (using motherboard SATA 6 GB/s)
  • Pool_1: 5 x WD Red 3 TB RAIDZ2
  • 2 x MiniDLNA servers (separate subnets) with shared content
  • NFS server for VMware ESXi 6.0
  • CIFS for Windows clients
Do I need a SLOG or a ZIL? (I've read articles on both and am still confused. Maybe I'm getting too old? :))

Suggestions?

Thanks!

I have no experience with TrueCommand and can't comment its reports, but what is the problem you think you have? Is the system running OK? What does memory usage show when you long into the FreeNAS system itself?

The GUI load, login and activities are sluggish to slow. CIFS and NFS seems okay. I'm just concerned about the memory load.
