Platform: FREENAS-MINI-XL
Version: FreeNAS-11.3-U4.1
I have a samba share using AD for authentication. The default permissions to the share are set to not inherit allowing fine tuning in sub directories. However, now any new files/folders get the default permissions from the root of the share (as well as robocopy refreshed files). When looking at the permissions from a Windows machine I get an error stating the permissions are incorrectly ordered and that they should be re-ordered.
I ran into this earlier this year, and the fix was to update freenas as a bug was fixed in the samba implementation. However, I started running into unexpected weekly reboots, and I found a mention of a bug that could cause this so I updated to the latest version. Now I am back to having problems with samba permissions.
Apply permissions recursively is NOT checked.
Flags for all default permissions are set to Not Inherit, except for domain admins.
