Hello,
I have read the manual how to replace a failed drive but i'm new to FreeNas and i want your support before i proceed with changing the failed drive.

Build FreeNAS-9.2.1.7-RELEASE-x64 (fdbe9a0)
Platform AMD Turion(tm) II Neo N54L Dual-Core Processor
Memory 3946MB

The steps i will follow are:
  1. In this screen, you'll see that the troubled disk is already offline. If it weren't, a third button marked "Offline" would appear below the list. Click on the troubled disk, and if you see a button that says "Offline", click it.
  2. Shut down your server, remove the failed/failing disk, and replace it with a good, burned-in, tested disk. Power up the server.
  3. Log back into the web GUI.
  4. Click the Storage button, select your pool, and click Volume Status. Click on the entry for the OFFLINE disk on the Volume Status page. Then click the Replace button at the bottom.
  5. In the window that pops up, select your new, replacement disk from the Member disk drop-down, then click the Replace Disk button. In a moment, the disk will be replaced, and resilvering will begin.
Thanks

Those are the steps out of the manual, and if you follow them (make sure you remove the correct disk--it will be the one whose serial number isn't shown in your second screen shot), you should be fine. Be aware, though, that you're running your system with only half the minimum RAM. It's unlikely this will cause a problem with the disk replacement, but it's hard to say for sure.

BTW, you can put 16GB RAM in your Gen 7 Microserver. I put 16GB in my N54L.

Hi everyone, i followed the steps above but the resilering process didn't start.
As you can see on the image the new hard disk is ada1p2 but the old one 1003673937978785592 is still there.
Have i done something wrong and what am i doing now?

Something that i have just noticed is that the status of the disk that i want to replace is "unavailable".

Thanks

update

I was curius why i don't see any messages after the disk replacement, so after the
Code:
zpool status
command the status is One or more devices is currently being resilvered.
I am updating the post because someone else as newbie as me will need it.
