RancherOS - soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck

I've been having ongoing issues with Rancher using the default VM. It worked well previously but the shift to 11.1/11.2 hasn't gone so well.

There is a soft CPU lockup that occurs and renders the VM inoperable. Searching around, it's possible that this is a GRUB issue. For debian-based Linux VMs, its possibly related to this item being missing from GRUB GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="nomodeset". I'm running a headless Lenovo ThinkServer TD350 with whatever the default video card was. The server has 16GB RAM and is lightly loaded.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I think it's a general issue with bhyve, I've been seeing something similar ever since it was integrated back in 10.x, I'm using Arch Linux and it kept locking up today :-/
