Posting both for assistance if possible but also to help others in case they run into the same issue.
Recently went to reinstall 11.3U1 on my R510. Latest available BIOS. Boot device is a sata SSD using one of those PCIE - SATA adapters.
2 pools existed here before, one w/ 6HDDs and one w/ 3SSDs.
A fresh install left me with no disks detected - BUT I could reimport my pools, and even sharing them via NFS worked. This isn't really acceptable obviously. I was unable to start smartd even after copying the smartd.conf.sample file to smartd.conf which was blank after install.
My workaround was to install 11.2U8 while ALL my desired HDDs were installed, then upgrade, then import pools or create new ones. However, any disks added after the upgrade are not detected for me.
Normally I would just stay on 11.2U8 however my pools had already been upgraded before the fresh install so that was not possible.
Any ideas as to why this might be happening?
