proFTPd: private & public folders

Is it possible to create private and public folders using proFTPd? Also to make proFTPd to require password for the private folder? And if it is possible, then how?
I would really appreciate screenshots or instructions on permissions on the dataset and the FTP-settings page.

Tried different permissions on root folder and the private. I tried to set it to -drwx----, it didn't do anything at all. The only difference is that the web gui shows "Could not reach...", i.e. authentication window is not showed.

Hmm.. I thought about it actually but haven't tried it yet. I will do some tests and come back with the results.
