Hi everyone,

I am experiencing some troubles with my disks on freenas 8.0.
Although there are some threads to the "problem getting available disk space", this seems not to be related to what's described there.

I have FreeNas running on an Asus AT4NM10T-I board with currently three drives and I want to add the fourth.

Problem 1:
Disks are named incorrectly in FreeNas
Disk 1 (1TB) gpart shows ada1, Freenas shows ada2
Disk 2 (2TB) gpart shows ada2, Freenas shows ada1
Disk 3 (1.5TB) gpart shows ada3, Freenas shows ada0

This has already create some confusion by itself, but now comes the real trouble.

Problem 2:
I want to add a fourth disk (2TB), which obviously would be ada0 for the OS (I see the disk in /dev), FreeNas gives me the option to add ada3 with a size of 1.5TB. When I add this disk (always hoping nothing happens to my real disk 3), I get an error message with "problem getting available disk space".

What can I do?

Thanks for your help!

The ordering issue was fixed in the first 8.01 beta i believe.

disks must be larger than 2 G, FreeNAS reserves the first 2 GB for a swap file.

I'll try and apply the upgrade, for the size the disks are off course 1/1.5/2 TB, sorry :D

Upgrade to 8.0.1 did not fix the issue. Did a fresh install, issue is gone. However I cannot create the volume on the new 2TB drive. Will have to work on its partition table to recover from problems occured with 8.0.0
Thanks!
