Hello there,

i'am just using Freenas about 2 Years without having any trouble.
But now, i just built an new NAS-System but the Intel-Network-Card Intel PRO/1000 PT Dual Server Adapter PCIe won't work.

My Systemkonfig is

MB:
ASUS E35M1-I, 6x SATA 6GB/s, 4GB RAM, 6x 2TB 6GB/s HDDS and the Intel PRO/1000 PT Dual-Port Server Adapter.
After the Setup, Freenas did not recognise the Adapter.
I only can Setup the Onboard Adapter.
So is there no Driver for This LAN Adapter? If no, where can i get it?
I have veryfied that the adapter is working. I tried it in an Win7 64Bit, and it works without any problems.
So, can you help me?
Did i make any mistake?

Bye, Leigh

There is an Hardware Issue.
The Board supports no Intel Cards at this time.
So i will send this one back and buy an Zotac M880GITX.
It works already in my first FreeNAS Storage.

Hi Protosd,
i don't think that this will solve the problem, because, the ASUS Board got an Realtek Onboard Adapter, wich works properly, but the TP-Link Gigabit PCIe 1x wich i tried wassn't discovered by the FreeNAS OS. Same like the Intel Cards.
I use the last Final Version of FreeNAS (8.0), no 8.01 Beta or RC1.
With this Version the Intel Card work on my Zotac M880GITX, without any problems.
Will your Driver be integrated in the next Release Candidate?

Thanks for Your Offer, may i need the driver in future releases?

Bye, Leigh

I just downloaded and compiled the driver to help another user with an Intel Pro 1000 card, the developers decide which drivers to include. If the driver worked (other user said it didn't), the developers could probably be persuaded to include it.

Glad to try and help.

So please check your Private Messages, i sent you a email address.
If you will send me the driver, i will check, if it works better.
Saturday i will have two 100% identical NAS Systems, so i will be able
to make a direct comparison.
