Hi.

i have tried for 3 days now to fix my problem with Plex plugin on Freenas 11.3
i didnt find any good explanations now to do it. so now i will share this with other noobs like my self :)

This is how i did it.

so after going through all sorts of forums and blogs i figured this one out.
My Freenas server is on the 192.168.110.0/255.255.255.0 net and my clients are on 192.168.30.0/255.255.255.0 and 192.168.100.0/255.255.255.0
this will not work from scratch.

What i had to do was first login to plex.tv and delete all authorized servers and browsers.
then i install the Plex plugin.
after install i stop the jail
edit the Preferences.xml in the root/ Plex Media Server/ folder of the Plex jail.
access this folder by cd "Plex Media Server/" including the qutation marks
I add the string
allowedNetworks="192.168.100.0/255.255.255.0, 192.168.110.0/255.255.255.0, 192.168.30.0/255.255.255.0" to the end of the 2 line before the />

do this before first access to the web interface or it will not work.
of course you have to edit the ip adresses to match your own network.

if you get "no soup for you" for a different reason. Good luck

Do you have something set up on your router to allow the devices to communicate across different subents? If not this is expected behavior.

If your on the same subnet/LAN as your plex jail, when you get to the web management page, you shouldn't have this problem. At least thats all it was for me. Adding in "allowed networks" is just a work around.

Yes i have
My PFSense is setup to full acces between 192.168.110.0 and 192.168.100.0 both ways.
192.168.30.0 only via the specific ports needed to 192.168.110.x (server)

it was a real headache to figure this out, but is working flaweles now.
Now my last problem is mountpoints, ACL and getting that to work :-( but that is for another post

Friends I have a problem with PLEX, I have Truenas Core installed, I installed PLEX by NAT, but I can't get the IPLAN to work: 32400 / web, while in Truenas Scale if you open the IPLAN: 32400 / web but it says some permissions and I can't either add start the server one, try the Nextcloud application and this one works like a charm x NAT without problem, it helps with PLEX thanks
