Open ports

I've done a fresh install of FreeNAS 8.2.0 Beta3 a couple times, and with no services enabled, noticed that port 111 (RPC related I presume?) and then another port in the 700-1000 range are open. This higher port seems to change after reboot.

I haven't found any documentation regarding why these ports are open, or how to close them.

Can someone shed any light?

Since no one knows what these ports are used for, can anyone explain the best method for installing a firewall (ipfw or other)? I've found some old posts, but I'm not sure they apply to version 8.2. It looks like there are firewall config options in rc.conf, but ipfw isn't enabled in the kernel.

Why is this? What is the recommended way for adding a firewall?
