FreeNAS-11.2-U3:

So when i have one pool mounted the temps are reported normally like this.

But when mounting a second pool. The same drives read as N/A. Also under reporting i get only readout of the SATA HDDs. Not SATA SSDs. Not sure if the two are related. Same behavior with second pool when that was a USB memory instead of the SSD pool.

File a bug report and post the issue number here. Please include a debug tarball.

Same here. It started with 11.2 U2, persisted with U3. Temps were fine in 11.2 U1. Under reporting session, temperature of all disks seems to be recorded correctly in the graphs (no holes), (unless data is interpolated which would make this assessment meaningless). In the dashboard, some disks have a temp reading, most do not. Which disk has a reading changes randomly at different times. Have 4 pools, 3 encrypted, all disks are SATA connected through M1015 HBA in IT mode.

@Sparx: if you are going to file a bug, I will not duplicate but I may attach my debug tarball on the bug tracker. Please post the bug link here, if you don't mind

Thanks

Just for clarity, that temperature report is per-disk not per-pool, so you need to click a disk to see its temperature.

I understand that the first disk in each pool was normally selected automatically (I haven't yet seen this problem on my 2 updated systems yet).

I have one system where it is, and one where it isn't ...

Yes of course the temperature is per disk, just randomly some disks have a temperature reading other (most) dont and which disk has a reading changes over time.

How does FreeNAS determine the disk temperatures? I would have expected it was via smartctl output, but the graphs of disk temperature for several of my disks appear to show some data points that are not integer values. Example:

This bug was marked as closed in redmine, however don't see a resolution. Does anybody know what the fix may be?

Well. this was almost solved. Not quite.
The issue was SATA SSD temperature readout parsing. It became slightly better with the U4 update now. But still not solved.

Also the reporting tab for disks isnt working. Not sure if i want to keep filing trouble reports. =)

Plenty of temperature on mine......running an LSI 9211-8i in IT mode, its always da0...weird...the drive checks out okay, and the temperature is preposterous, lead free solder melts at 219 degrees

same here, in smartctl the temperature is easily visible but all my spinning disk dont show the temp in the webgui. Only my SSD does. All disks are connected to a LSI 2116 controller.

did so, same issue. No idea how the temperature is determined. Smart works fine as said but all my hdd are on a backplate with sata and the LSI controller. The ssd which are directly connected work fine, SMART wars also for all hdd but the normal temperature reporting is showing NA.
