NFS Share Name

Ladies and Gents

Quick question I mounted an NFS share to my Macbook Pro and noticed that the share is labeled as the IP address of the freenas server. Now is there a way that I can relabel the IP address to a word? For example from 192.168.1.1 to say Freenas?

I have noticed that if I create a AFP share it shows in Finder " FreeNAS " Is there a way to do that for NFS shares ?

Yes: http://www.unix.com/man-page/freebsd/5/hosts/

At some point there'll be a way to do it from the GUI, but for now you need to open a shell and edit /conf/base/etc/hosts after you do "mount -uw /" first.
