Hi. I don’t really know how to fully describe the errors so I will attach screenshots. The first is the error I get repeatedly. I let it run overnight to see if it would work past it. Got a second error (the one listing the mouse).

I’ve tried two different versions, via optical. I removed all 4 of the hot swappable drives, so they aren’t part of the issue.

I’m curious if it’s because the hardware was an ESXI/VMware host in its past life.

It would help to know exactly what hardware is in that thing.

Well, I actually finally got it to install. However I can’t get a network connection now. The port works (port 1 of 4) because I can set it up with iDrac and access the iDrac web console via crossover cable to a laptop. I’ve tried ports 1 and 2 so far and neither work.

I’ll try to find a full hardware spec sheet for it

Mmizzell, did you get this working?

I can tell you playing with dell servers is fun but not straight forward. I have freenas running on a proliant microserver (HP) and it is flawless.

I also run competetor software on a dell T620 and can confirm there are some hurdles to getting the dell hardware to play nice.

In relation to your point about nics, make sure you have updated your dell firmware, and dont just jump from really old to the latest. You will need to complete incremental updates to get them to take properly.
Also update any other firmwares while you are at it! (lifecycle controller idrac etc)

Good Luck.
