I was wondering if I can install the NAS on a USB thumb drive and run it on a Seagate-D2 NAS station? Meaning I have FreeNAS installed on the thumb drive and I use the NAS drives USB port? Not home to try it yet so i figured i'd ask here.

If you're interest in FreeNAS, you should read the Hardware Recommendations Guide, linked in my sig. Cyberjock's guide, also linked below, is also recommended.
