Here is what I want to do I have 2 separate LANs 10.0.0.x and 10.0.1.x freenas is connected to both of them with the IPs of 10.0.0.20 and 10.0.1.20 I have a jail setup with the IP 10.0.1.21. My issue is that the jail can not communicate with anything. I can not ping the gateway google other devices by IP or name. My apps inside the jail need to connect to the internet and I cant find this out.

Please Help.

Thanks,

Can you ping *anything* on either of your networks from the jail?

Can you ping the jail from FreeNAS?

Specifically, which version of FreeNAS are you using?
8.2 Release?
p1?
x64?

Are you using a VM?

I am using 8.2.0 Release P1 64

I am currently rebuild Freenas and the jail so i have a clean slate to work with since i have changed so many settings.

If I remember correctly I could not ping anything from the jail but I could ping the jail from the other networks.

btw I am running pfsense for my firewall

No VM it's a physical machine.

EDIT: STOPPED WORKING
I fixed it! I had the wrong gateway set in the web GUI it was 10.0.0.1 and not 10.0.1.1. I guess you cant have both NICs connected to the internet. But that is ok I only need my jail to be connected to the internet.

Thank you both.

I approved one of those large posts, is that sufficient?
