Mixing disks of different sizes in a VDEV is not allowed.

Hey, can we get word on the ability to REPLACE a drive of different size too?
at the moment I can't do that either.

hmm, that should work, as that isnt part of the pool creation wizard. i tried it on an 11.3-u1 test vm, worked fine. you might need a separate thread as that ought to be unrelated

Indeed I have not seen any reports of using a larger drive to replace a smaller drive failing, If you have had that happen I suggest you report a bug.

I guess ill report a but then, im unable to replace drives that do not have the same size.

If you need to replace a disk right now you can use the console/ssh and
Code:
zfs replace

ya, it looks like its still dissallowed. so much for fixing it in u2.

n/m, there is now a "force" checkbox. I would change the error message to "not recommended" instead of "not allowed", but it does work. why the last screenshot doesn't have it I am not sure .
KenwoodFox does include that section in their screenshot so we can't see it if they do have the force checkbox.
