I currently have FreeNAS-11.2-U5 installed on an Intel DH67CF motherboard (Intel 82579V NIC) and a Pentium G1610, with 16GB DDR3.

Currently I have 2 pools - one is a 4x4TB Z2 and the other a 3x1TB Z1 (SSD) connected to a Syba SATA III 4 Port PCI-e x1 Controller Card.

I intend to move this to an Asus H97M-Plus (Intel® I218V NIC) and Pentium G3258 - same RAM. The reason being the extra 2xSATA and 1xM.2.

From what I've read here, all I have to do is use the same USB pen as the boot device and plug the 4xHDDs. Can I plug them to the Motherboard or Syba SATA ports in any random order?

Ideally the 4x4TB Z2 will stay on the Syba and the 6xSATA ports on the motherboard will be used for a new Z1 pool of 6x1TB SSDs.
Should I expect to run into trouble, or should it be plug and play?

It doesn't matter where you plug in the SATA disks. FreeNAS uses a gptid to keep track of the devices.

If the new system uses a different NIC, you'll probably have to reconfigure the new NIC (it'll still be looking for the old one). Other than that, you should be good to go.
