I've thought I've solved this problem several times now but it keeps coming back, perhaps when I reboot the server or when the breeze outside comes from the northeast. I keep getting "Permission Denied" when I attempt to download files through Transmission.

I have one hard drive (Scratch) that contains both jail and BitTorrent folders. I've mounted the BitTorrent folder from /mnt/Scratch/BitTorrent to Transmission's mount folder within the jail, /mnt/Scratch/jail/slammer/usr/pbi/transmission-amd64/mnt/ (Screenshot: http://o7.no/ppTcyG).

Through the shell, I can successfully access subfolders of the mounted BitTorrent folder from the jail path: http://o7.no/obI1sQ All of these folders are owned by the 40001 transmission user created by the plugin.

Transmission itself can clearly access the configuration files stored in "Transmission," so why can't I download? This path is correct and has worked in the past: http://o7.no/pxF8Xd

What am I doing wrong with my setup here, and how can I fix it so that it will "stick?"

EDIT: Gosh darnit, this particular time the problem was with me using Transmission Remote GUI. In the Transmission settings through FreeNAS, there is the option to set Watch, Download, logfile, and configuration directories. The remote GUI also has a setting for a directory for incomplete files. In my case, it was set to the wrong path and the option was checked, so it was trying to place the incomplete pieces of the file somewhere that wasn't mounted within the jail. I fixed the path and everything is working again.

I'm not sure how this was working before - maybe I didn't have the box for a separate incomplete directory checked in the remote GUI? If I am doing anything wrong in the setup previously described I'd still like to know, but at least everything appears to be working now.
