Hi all,

Has anyone flashed the LSI SAS 3008 controller to IT Mode on a Gigabyte MD70-HB0 motherboard?

Would the procedure be the same as flashing this controller on a Supermicro board, would it use the same firmware?

Regards.

It works exactly the same as on any other motherboard. The firmware on the HBA doesn't care what type of motherboard you're running.

Hi all,

Just an update.

I have successfully flashed the LSI SAS 3008 controller to IT Mode on my Gigabyte MD70-HB0 motherboard.

I used the method on the link below from Server The Home.
https://www.servethehome.com/flash-lsi-sas-3008-hba-e-g-ibm-m1215-mode/

With the controller being onboard and not a PCIe card I skipped Step 2. I got the SAS Address as explained in Step 3, but skipped the reset of the firmware in Step 3. All the other steps where to the letter and went smoothly.

Hopefully this helps someone else out there.

Thanks again jro.
