Hello....

I recently messed up my FreeNAS 11.2-U3 installation. I reverted back to a previous 11.2-U2.1 installation. Having reverted, I could no longer log in using the new GUI. The (new) GUI would hang when logging ind, and eventually the machine would reboot (Possibly triggered by reloading the GUI on the browser). I would still be able to log in using SSH. I could also log in using the legacy GUI. After having deleted the existing (broken) 11.2-U3, I was able to log in using the new GUI (Strange, that this would make a difference since I was booting from 11.2-U2.1?).

I then proceeded to upgrade from 11.2-U2.1 to 11.2-U3. After the upgrade, the problem is back. I can not use the new GUI, but legacy GUI works. New GUI (With correct user/password) makes the system reboot.

This is what I got from /var/log/messages
Code:
Apr 16 12:45:24 ultraman shutdown: reboot by root:
Apr 16 12:45:24 ultraman syslog-ng[2243]: I/O error occurred while writing; fd='24', error='Input/output error (5)'

Apr 16 12:45:29 ultraman ntpd[2778]: ntpd exiting on signal 15 (Terminated)

My users are in LDAP. I can see them with getent passwd

Any ideas much appreciated.

Regards,
Tobias

This is prob worth reporting at bugs.ixsystems.com. If you do, post the issue number here.

At some point, this problem went away. I can now log in to the modern GUI with no issues.... Strange...
